Photos! (Oct 2/02)

Ok! I finally got some photos small enough to send to give you an idea of my apt, some of the friends I've mentioned, etc. I tried to make sure I didn't send 'em to people who don't have fast internet connections (like me!! no pictures please!) but if you're on dialup, my apologies....

Busy week so far.. most significant for me was going to the Maasai market on Tuesday - bought a bunch of stuff to decorate my apt. with (so already these photos are out of date!). The market is much like the Tangier cabsah - except many more people and much less space! The dollar signs in their eyes were visible as soon as they caught a glimpse of me.. luckily I had a couple of locals with me! (I did end up getting a lot - giraffe carvings, paintings on fabric and banana leaves, beads, belts, blankets, softstone dishes....etc!).

Also on Tuesday I drove all over the place in the company car - including the slums where my friend/trainee Jeniffer lives - what pavement?? - and the Mountain Club of Kenya. Should be going on an expedition soon!

Anyway, I must go, it's lunchtime! We get African lunch on Wed & Fri but the other days it's just bread, veggies, and fruit... I suppose it's good for me huh :)

PS - for those that haven't heard, sonJa got a job in TO!!! Office Admin for GoWay Travel I think.... CONGRATS!!! And hi to Tara too - loved your update, glad things are going well!! Guys, have one for me on A. Keith's b'day :)
